Rate This Guy: Danny Woodhead
Today we take a look at New England Utility player Danny Woodhead and develop an accurate Madden Rating for him. As always we rate a player's production looking at the most recent 3-year window with emphasis on the most recent year.
Think Dave Meggett--only the poor man's version. While Watkins doesn't appear on the 2 deep rotation for the Patriots, they use him as a role player in much the same way that Meggett was used by the Giants and Patriots for the better part of a decade. Our issue isn't with Woodhead in particular, its just that a utility player who's more of a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none simply can't get the same rating that a starter would. His one year of being used in his utility role shows little consistency and his numbers simply aren't that impressive. While he did contribute on a contender, we simply can't in good conscience rate him anything higher than we'd rate any other 3rd string HB/WR who contributed in spots with some intangibles for contributing on an elite team. The rating we chose? 61.
Here are Woodhead's 3 year totals
