Top Features we'd LOVE to see in 2K (Part 2)

Here's Part 2 of our multi-part series regarding some of the features we'd like to see 2K Implement into the series to enhance gameplay. While few can argue 2K's gameplay is first-rate and the best any sports title has EVER done, there are still places it could improve and give us an even better experience in 2012. Use the link below for the second part of our list.

1. Balanced Pump-Fake - This has simply gone on too long....this is another issue that needs to be balanced with consequences as well. There are real-life instances where a pump-fake allows a defender to recover and get into perfect position for a block. Where are the instances where players get bottled up and lose their dribble? Shouldn't we also see the ball stripped or poked away? Its comical to watch users pass the ball around the perimeter pump-faking with every player until a defender falls for it. That is not an offense and should be totally ineffective in NBA 2K.

2. Defense Stick - Game Balance dictates that we let the right analog do for defense what the shot-stick did for offense. Many times its too difficult to stay in front of offensive players since gameplay renders them "open" if we're slightly to the left or right of them and most importantly it makes our help defenders leave their men if we're not glued to them, breaking down our defenses. What if we could force ball-handlers left or right, play the passing lanes, deny the ball, challenge shots and even box out and rebound the ball with the Defense Stick? Would you be excited? We sure would.

3. Defensive Square Up - While the AI can preternaturally stay in front of ball-handlers on a whim, users struggle here. There are too many situations where movement and sliding makes it next to impossible to stay in front of ball-handlers. Since being off-center on defense renders offense players "open" we'd like to see tools to make this more user-friendly. We'd like to see the L2 button used to "square up" our defenders directly in front of their assignments so that its a little easier to stay between the ball-handler and the basket in the future.

4. Rebounding - Rebounding seems a little "off" this year. Shouldn't we see our players should attack the ball much like they do a shot-block? There are simply too many instances where we get good position and watch our players jump straight up for the ball missing it altogether. This has never been an issue before so we're hopeful it will be rectified quickly.
