2K12 Rookies Must Wait
In some very disappointing news just discovered yesterday, NBA rookies drafted this past June must wait for the NBA Lockout to end before they can be included in this year's version of the game. This is very disappointing for a few reasons. 1) The inclusion of new players is one of the things that keeps the game fresh 2) Some teams are in desperate need of high-level talent, and teams like Cleveland, Minnesota, Utah, Toronto and Sacramento get the short end of the stick. If you're a Minnesota fan you're excited about the new talent coming to town, heck you flat out NEED THAT. No Kyrie cross-overs or Jimmer? NOT COOL BRO. 3) Lockout issues shouldn't affect us this much, as frustrating as it is to possibly not have an NBA season, its even moreso when it begins to affect our digital version of the NBA.
In our opinion, 2K is off the hook here. The league is to blame here for not including the verbage in a license contract that would prevent this. This is something the NBA needs to resolve so that their peripheral money isn't affected along with league income. Its been confirmed that the rookies have already been added to the game, and that they can quickly be patched in with a title update once all the NBA back-and-forth gets resolved. We're hoping this is SOONER rather than LATER. NBA fans love watching the new talent every year, even if its not on our teams, the excitement of competing against them is sometimes enough.
