Rate This Guy: Mike Jenkins

Today we take a look at Dallas CB Mike Jenkins and develop an accurate Madden Rating for him. As always we rate a player's production looking at the most recent 3-year window with emphasis on the most recent year.

Like many corners, Jenkins is a great athlete and like many players he has shown the ability to play at a high level for an entire season. Unfortunately, Jenkins only has one standout season. While the Pro Bowl can be more of a popularity contest, 2009 was certainly a very good year for Jenkins, as we had him rated an 80 after year two which was his best so far. With another year like that, he could have moved into the 85-89 range we reserve for Very Good players like Giant CB Corey Webster (85). In the end, we decided that a player with only one good year sandwiched between two average ones, who played on a defense that struggled last year (and he did especially; he was targeted all year) can't reside in the 80-84 range like his fellow CB Terence Newman. We decided he wasn't average but not in the "Good" category just yet. We consider him a "Solid" player at this point. His Rating? 76.

Here are Jenkins' 3 Year Totals
