Top Features we'd LOVE to see in 2K (Part 4)

Here's Part Four of our multi-part series regarding some of the features we'd like to see 2K Implement into the series to enhance gameplay. While few can argue 2K's gameplay is first-rate and the best any sports title has EVER done, there are still places it could improve and give us an even better experience in 2012. Use the link below for the fourth part of our list.

More Responsive Double Team - So what's the deal with the double team? Correct us if we're wrong but isn't it supposed to react like a trap where a second defender converges on the player with the ball and forces him to pass it or risk having the ball stolen or lost in a tie-ball situation? The way the mechanic currently works is flawed, as we see reactions from our defenders that are inconsistent at best and many instances where a second defender will meet an offensive player in the paint and essentially "watch". We realize double-teaming was used as an exploit in the past, but having it drain stamina in addition to calling fouls when the "double" comes in some instances (in addition to letting offensive players split it every blue moon) will do a great job of balancing it.

Red/Blue Assignment Circles - We've talked endlessly about how defense should be much more user-friendly. One of the mechanics we think would help a great deal are different color assignment circles for players who no one is covering, and for the people we're matched up with. Give us the ability to avoid mismatches if at all possible. Let the blue circles show uncovered players and red circles the player's we're assigned to.

Classic Teams Lobby - How this wasn't implemented in 2K12 is beyond us, but it needs to happen in the future. 2K easily hit a Gold-Mine with the popularity of Classic Teams and NBA Legends, but not having them available in online play was a blunder. FACT: One-on-one battles, half-court games and "21" do not excite us. Fans want to match up the Frobe Lakers against Jordan's Bulls, use the Penny & Shaq Magic or go to war with Magic and Bird's greatest teams. We can totally understand not wanting to let these teams wreak havoc on contemporary teams, but the solution is simple: A Classic Teams Lobby.

Buzzer-Beaters - Sigh...We really expected more out of the "kings of immersion and presentation" but we're willing to give you guys a mulligan because gameplay is first-rate. Where are the round of high-fives and chest-bumps when we end the quarter or half with a buzzer-beater? Where is the crowd's reaction? Why don't we get mobbed by our teammates and see 4 different angles of our game-winning shots? We're ready to feel like we did something EPIC, so spare no expense in future versions of NBA 2K--even if you have to use cut-scenes.

Vary News Stories - If we see one more story about how someone is on the trading block or regarding trade rumors during our seasons we'll scream. Isn't there any other type of NBA news that gets generated? We eagerly look forward to the trade deadline so we no longer see nine of ten stories that show "(insert team here) quietly shopping (insert player here)" let us see awards, injuries, winning & losing streaks, stats, game-highs and even player trash talk. Just anything but trade rumors dominating the NBA landscape--please.
